In the latest Glyn Moody blog entry on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations, the writer has a closer look at the proposed « regulatory coherence » mechanism that would allow differences in regulations between the EU and the US to be leveled over time.

« Corporate Europe Observatory has obtained a position paper on « regulatory coherence » […]. It lays out how the major problems of regulatory incompatibility – the chlorine chickens and growth hormone beef, for example – won’t be solved now, in the full glare of public scrutiny, but will be shuffled off to the future, where a new and powerful body will be established to « smooth out » those tricky regulatory bumps.  »
